    Ma’am,
Our group used the Amaranth Promotional Video Jed and I showed our class one time as our material for our FGD activity. Since I am part of the editorial staff of the publication, my classmates have been telling me that our group should not use the video for our FGD.

Am I really not allowed to use the material just because I am part of the pub?

Our FGD activity pushed through anyway, and we used the video. However, I did not join my group mates in facilitating the discussions. I thought it was better for me not to because some of our FGD respondents knew I am part of the pub. I thought my participation in the discussion might result to less credible feedbacks from the audience.

Ian, it is all right for your group to use the Amaranth promotional video in your FGD. Theoretically, it is preferred for people who created the communication material not to solicit audience reactions as they might aim to please you. For our class, it is ok since it is just a learning exercise. It is good that you did not take part in the focus group discussion itself. See you soon.
